Job Description

Job Purpose:

To oversee the entire operations of our Product Support business including all aspects of the Product Support businesses located in Missouri and Illinois.

Job Scope:

This is a high-level position with significant degree of autonomy. Works in conjunction with Regional Sales Managers, Regional Product Support Managers, Parts Managers and Service Managers


Provide leadership and direction in the areas of Service and Parts to ensure high level of customer service is exhibited throughout organization.

Recommends budgets to management. Analyzes department budget requests to identify areas in which adjustments can be made and recommends & allocates Capital & Operating expenses for branches & overall budget. Reviews and analyzes proposals submitted to determine if benefits derived and possible applications justify expenditures. Approves and submits proposals considered feasible to management for consideration and allocation of funds or allocates funds from department budget. Direct and coordinate organization's financial and budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments, and increase efficiency.

Plans and develops departmental policies and goals and implements goals through subordinate administrative personnel. Directs preparation of directives to department managers outlining policy, program, or operations changes to be implemented.

Provides assistance to Product Support Sales Team for promotion of service and parts to develop new markets, increase share of market, and obtain competitive position in industry. Works with Product Support Sales management and administrative personnel, and reviews activity, operating, parts and service sales reports to assist with program changes or operational improvements to support growth efforts as well as achieving sales goals.

Evaluates pricing programs for commodities and services as necessary to ensure profit, based on estimated budget, and profit goals.

Leads and manages the distribution operation through successful on-going achievements in areas of inventory management, staff supervision and development, inventory control management, delivery and warehouse logistics.

Manage material requirements to increase inventory turns and reduce levels on hand.

Provide leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training, and development.

Provide leadership for problem resolution to facilitate fast improvements and improved working relationships.

Identify, communicate and drive implementation of capital investments and improvement projects.

Determine staffing requirements, and interview, hire and train new employees, or oversee those personnel processes.

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and/or Marketing. MBA preferred. Technical degree with equivalent years of experience may be considered.

Must have strong business acumen knowledge and application experience of greater than 10 years.

Minimum of 5 years in Product Support Management role is required. 10 plus years Service Management experience is required. 5 plus years Parts Management experience is required. CAT dealer experience preferred.

7 plus years experience in developing and implementing strategic business plans as well as in identifying and implementing business solutions and initiatives company wide. Ability to perform short and long range planning.

10 plus years of experience in the following: heavy equipment, truck, Power Systems sales and service industry, high level, direct customer facing/interaction experience and heavy equipment repair/technical troubleshooting.

In addition to being able to sit, stand, walk, read, talk, write and hear, to perform the essential functions of this job an individual must be able to do the following additional activities: Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and operate in a very fast pace environment. Travel requirements are > 25%.
