Job Description:

The purpose of this position is to assist in processes and procedures associated with the disassembly and assembly of machinery and/or heavy equipment components. Overall responsible for cleaning and preparing job, loading and delivering materials and using a variety of tools and machines. Assist Machinists and Welders as needed.

Responsibilities:


* Perform assembly and disassembly procedures working under supervision of the Foreman with an efficiency and speed of completion that is good.
* Perform work that is varied and instructions that may or may not be detailed.
* Perform hydraulic and electrical connections under the guidance of an Assembler III on an as needed basis.
* Spots inaccuracies or sub-standard qualities and preventing them from advancing through the assembly process.
* Weld nonstructural components and brackets.
* Work underground as needed and complete all required MSHA training associated with working underground.
* Any and all duties as assigned

* Minimum High School graduate or GED
* 1-3 years of experience in assembly/disassembly of machinery and/or heavy equipment components.
* Understands fundamental concepts and procedures involved in disassembly and assembly of mechanical equipment.
* Ability to operate specialty shop tools such as hydraulic hoses, crimping machine, accumulator charging equipment and specialty gauges, etc.
* Ability to cut and weld at a low level capacity or greater.
* Basic communication skills required and ability to work without direct supervision\
* Basic knowledge of DBS and Microsoft Office required to perform job duties.
* Possess a tool box with basic set of tools such as assortment of hammers, screw drivers, snap ring pliers, pliers, pry bars and wrenches to ¾ inch standard and 20 mm metric. Professional mechanics tools such as 3/8 -1 ½ standard, 10mm- 30 mm metric socket wrenches and sockets 3/8 -- ¾ standard, 10 mm=1 19mm metric, allen wrenches 1/6 -- 3/8 standard, 1.5 mm -- 10,, metric welding hood and gloves.
* Ability to work underground.

Special Physical Requirements:

In addition to being able to sit, stand, walk, read, talk, write and hear, to perform the essential functions of this job an individual must be able to do the following additional activities: occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and operate in a very fast pace environment, must have hand-eye coordination and endurance and ability to communicate both verbally and in writing. Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions, both hot and cold weather temperatures. Climb in, on, and around large mining equipment as well as work in confined spaces. Travel requirements are < 25% with periodic work at Customers mining operations in both surface and underground environments.
