Job Description


* Provide internal and external customers with clear, concise and timely resolutions to technical questions and product issues. In many cases resolving product issues will require a coordinated effort in working with the Caterpillar engineers.

* Assist technicians on assignments through the repair process to ensure timely, cost effective and quality repairs are completed.

* Travel to customer job sites or service shops as needed to troubleshoot and advise on technical issues.

* Provide technician training on the various components and systems. Prepare reports and maintain records such as attendance rolls, and training activity details.

* Participate in conferences, seminars, and training sessions to keep abreast of developments in the field and to integrate developments into training programs.

2 year technical degree with emphasis on diesel engine or earthmoving repair is required.
* 5 years of experience as a heavy equipment/earthmoving technician.
* Must have a solid understanding of applied failure analysis.
* Effective oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills are required. Conflict management skills are required.
* Must be able to organize and write procedures in a logical/methodical manner.
* Strong computer skills in SISWeb, Parts Integrator, Dealer Business Systems and Microsoft products is required.
* Good time management skills and excellent attention to detail is a must.

Physical Requirements:

In addition to being able to sit, stand, walk, read, talk, write and hear, to perform the essential functions of this job an individual must be able to do the following additional activities: Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and operate in a very fast pace environment. Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions, both hot and cold weather temperatures. Travel requirements are > 50%. Must be able to obtain a DOT Medical Certification and maintain a CDL.
