Job Description


* Keep all training courses current with products, procedures, parts reusability, tooling and training aids.
* Assist in scheduling appropriate technicians in correct classes.
* Develop and schedule customer dealer training programs.
* Assist other departments in putting on special training programs requested by them.
* Travel as necessary to conduct specialized or localized training (shop/customer)
* Work with Product Support and Service managers to identify areas where additional training is needed.
* Coordinate classroom availability with the appropriate people.
* Schedule, test and certify technicians on appropriate equipment.
* Order correct literature for training classes.
* Design, build and maintain appropriate training aids.
* Keep up to date on appropriate courses and other areas of responsibility.
* Work to keep training and personal expenses at reasonable levels. Keep account of tools and materials kept in the training lab and classroom.
* Work with the training and service managers to see that servicemen have all the required courses and certifications required for advancement.
* Lead the development of a technical training program with multiple skill levels for technicians.
* Assist as directed with our Technician Training programs -- FABTECH, Think BIG.

* An Associates of Applied Science degree in Diesel Technology or related field. A Bachelors Degree in Education/Training, Communications or similar program is preferred. Will consider 8 years of technical work experience (as a Field Technician) in lieu of educational requirements.
* Possess a good understanding of industrial engines and/or heavy equipment with demonstrated training experience in those areas is required.
* A minimum of 2 years experience in technical training, problem analysis, course design and development is essential.
* 5 plus years' prior training, teaching, or related technical training experience in the heavy equipment industry is desired.
* Strong customer service, organizational & time management skills are essential.
* A strong sense of urgency is required as well as the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office is a must.
* Proficiency in Camtasia, Articulate Rapid and Visual Graphic Design software is a desired.
* Some travel is required.

Physical Requirements:

In addition to being able to sit, stand, walk, read, talk, write and hear, to perform the essential functions of this job an individual must be able to do the following additional activities: Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and operate in a very fast pace environment. Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions, both hot and cold weather temperatures. Travel requirements are > 50%. Must be able to obtain a DOT Medical Certification and maintain a CDL.
